KidsFit Jamathon on July 23 – Nonprofit Digital Vibez invites community to get movin’ and dance-along online

July 15, 2020 – West Palm Beach, Fla. – Digital Vibez, a Palm Beach County nonprofit committed to supporting children with avenues to maintain a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle, is hosting its 9th annual KidsFit Jamathon in partnership with Prime Time Palm Beach County and Palm Beach County Youth Services – 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. online at digitalvibez.org and its social media platforms. The event, a showcase of activities, dance, and fitness, is expected to draw thousands of youth and members of the community to dance, shake, twist, move and groove to Island rhythms, Latin beats and today’s hits.

Digital Vibez, a local non-profit 501(c)(3), started hosting Jamathons in 2012 to motivate and inspire children to dance, stay fit, and live healthy lives! The event is now one of the largest summer camp events with over 4,000 students, staff, and directors every year!

Each summer, the organization brings together 70-plus camps, countywide, to participate in the Digital Vibez 8-week program of Fitness Jamz and Wellness Workshops filled with classes in health education, exercise, dance, technology, and the arts. KidsFit Jamathon is the anticipated culmination of the programs when teams from participating camps express themselves in a showcase of dance routines. The winning team takes home a prize of $500.

“Child obesity continues to skyrocket, and kids need mentors and role models,” said Wil Romelus, who founded Digital Vibez in 2014. “Digital Vibez was formed to create a platform for kids to experience a healthy lifestyle, get moving, and enjoy exercise with fun, supportive activities, so they aren’t even thinking about it.”

This year, the public is invited to join in the fun by logging on, cheering along, and moving to the music. The 90-minute, live event takes kids, teens and adults through a series of activities, with an entertaining, lively welcome, fun warm-up routines, dance-along numbers, and learn popular viral dances featured on the latest craze: Tik Tok.

Partners and sponsors on board helping to make the event a success, are Palm Health Foundation, United Way of Palm Beach County, Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin counties, Children’s Services Council Palm Beach County, PNC Arts Alive, Extraordinary Charities, Crazy Games, Eat Better Live Better, FPL and Future Leaders.
